The spleen acts as a filter for blood and controls the level of blood cells. It is referred to as a ‘secreting organ’ as it produces and secretes specific substances in the body. In the world of raw feeding, spleen is often fed as a secreting organ, alongside liver.
Buffalo Spleen is an iron-rich organ that is high in protein and low in fat. It is very nutrient dense, and plugs many nutrition gaps in most homemade or home cooked diets. Organs are absolutely essential to include in your dog’s diet, and the spleen is a very beneficial one to add. It is not very pleasant to handle when raw, so we offer it up as a freeze-dried option to make it easier.
The freeze-dried buffalo spleen can be added to meals to balance, or fed as a treat. If your dog is already eating a balanced diet, do exercise moderation to not unbalance their meals. Moderation is encouraged (because most pups LOVE it!)

Storage & Handling
- Store in a cool, dry, dark place for up to 6 months
- Reseal bag tightly after opening or transfer to airtight container
- Store in fridge or freezer for up to 12 months from purchase
- Do not allow to come in contact with water or any liquid. Use dry hands to handle.
- Keep away from direct heat and light
Our all-natural treats are processed by hand in our kitchens, and may have variations in size and colour from batch to batch after freeze-drying. The quality of the product is not compromised in any way by these visual irregularities.
