We specially developed this treat for our partner, Noordin Mews Heritage Hotel in Penang. They are a boutique pet-friendly hotel in Georgetown, that welcomes pets (dogs) and treats them as a member of your family.
Drawing on and inspired by the quintessential Penang hawker dish – Penang Hokkien Mee, we reimagined the essence and flavours and put them into a handy treat for our canine friends. Noordin Mews Hotel is located just a street away, within walking distance of the famed 888 Hokkien Mee at Lebuh Presgrave hawker centre, which made this dish an obvious choice!
At the base of the Penang Hokkien Mee Chookies is ground chicken neck, the core of our regular Chookies! treat. In this special edition item, the ground chicken neck is mixed with fresh sea prawns, red pepper (capsicum) and fresh kale. Each Penang Hokkien Mee Chookies captures the essence of a steaming bowl of noodles in savoury prawn broth, with the smell of sea prawns and a hint of spice from fresh red pepper.
